Make Dog Collars

You can make dog collars yourself with a few basic materials. The most basic collar can be made with just a length of nylon webbing, a d-ring, and a buckle. Typically, the hardware on a collar long outlasts the collar material, so you can even use the hardware from an old collar to fashion a new one, saving money and recycling at the same time.

Other simple ideas:

Make a simple leather collar by cutting down an old, used leather belt. Customize it by adding metal embellishments in the shapes of paw prints, studs, or spikes.
Don't just re-use old collar hardware. Buckles from backpacks, gym bags, etc., can be clipped off when the items are no longer of use and used for a new collar.
If you knit or crochet, put that talent into making a collar (decorative, of course).
Denim is another great collar material. Add gems or embroidery to dress it up and create a one-of-a-kind collar.
