Specialty Dog Collars
There are a variety of specialty dog collars available for various breed-specific and medical needs.
Some specialty collars include:
- Martingale Collars - useful for Sighthounds (e.g., Greyhounds, Whippets, Borzoi, etc.) whose
necks are larger than their heads. They are also becoming popular for other breeds as an alternative to choke collars.
- Elizabethan Collars - these aren't so much a typical collar as a medical aid
to keep dogs from damaging an existing wound or aggravating a medical condition.
- Vibrating Collars - these collars, along with hand signals, are particularly useful
in training deaf or hearing-impaired dogs.
